The 7th Meeting of the Working Group on Statistics of International Trade (WGSITS)

In the two mornings of August 26-27, 2020, the 7th Meeting of the Working Group on Statistics on International Trade in Services, hereinafter referred to as WGSITS,  was conducted via video conference. The Meeting was chaired by the Philippine Statistics Authority with the participation of ASEAN Statistics Division (ASEANstats) and WGSITS members from ASEAN Member States (AMSs).

 

 

The main purpose of establishing the WGSITS is to promote the development and harmonization of SITS in support of the ASEAN evidence-based policy in monitoring the free flow of services within the ASEAN Economic Community as well as between ASEAN and the global economy. The Working Group shall meet at least once a year.

 

 

This Meeting aims to (1) implement the assessment measures on Statistical Process (Section B) and Statistical Output (Section C) of the ACSS Code of Practice, using the snapshot tool; (2) review and monitor the WGSITS work plan for 2016-2025; (3) discuss the SITS data submission and data dissemination status; (4) discuss on updating the SITS metadata; (5) discuss ASEAN-Help-ASEAN Framework; and (6) discuss the SITS-related capacity building agenda and SITS-related activities under ARISE Plus Project and AANZFTA Project.
