On
the morning of December 8, 2020, the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam collaborated
with the Statistics Division (ASEANstats) to hold online meeting of
The 10th Session of the ASEAN
Community Statistical System Committee
(Open session). Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - General Director of
General Statistics Office of Viet Nam delivered her opening speech.
In
addition to the delegates who attended the close session on December 8, 2020, International
Organizations and Development Partners are also invited to attend the open
session to share relevant experiences and best practices on showcasing the
strategy in responding Covid-19 pandemic situation.
At
the opening session, the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam presented a
Video screening on Viet Nam‘s activities in its Chairmanship. Following that,
Mr. Pham Quang Vinh - Deputy Director of GSO of Viet Nam presented the ACSS10
Chair’s highlights on the Theme and Key Deliverables for 2020 ACSS Work
Programme.
The
opening session on December 9, 2020 of the ACSS Committee focused on updating
information on a number of main contents as follows: Outcomes of the ASEAN
Summits and Ministerial Meetings of relevance to the ACSS Work Programme, Revised AWP 2021 and Indicative
AWP 2022, The
result of ASEANstats and AMS assessment on the ACSS Open Data Implementation
Framework, The on-going
work programmes and achievements of ACSS WGs in 2020, ARISE Plus’s update on
the sub-component
on statistics in the ARISE Plus, 2020-2021 and Review of the final draft
Joint Media Statement.
Following
the discussion of ACSS Committee members about highlights of the 10th Session
ACSS Committee, Statistics
Brunei presented the background information of the 11th ACSS Committee meeting
held in Brunei.
At
the end of the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - General Director of General
Statistics Office of Viet Nam gave a closing speech at the 10th session of ACSS
Committee.
